Rogelio Martínez Zapata

Rogelio Martínez Zapata, born 1957 in Guantánamo, specializes in aerial-scapes of the Cuban countryside. He works from photographs taken by a friend who flies.

His one-man show, “Efémeros Vivientes” (Ephemeral Living) appeared in 2014 in Guantánamo.

Rogelio Martínez called the series “an investigation”… “I am motivated by constantly changing things, their lack of permanence. Everything is ephemeral in life, hence this project where I place the man in the context of nature.”
